Rosalie Prussing paints with a style all her own. With a strong sense of color and a touch of whimsy, her paintings make you smile. Her subjects are varied, and all are images popular in Hawaii. Her "signature" is the placement of Hawaiis popular "mynah bird" found in all of her pieces -- sometimes noticeable, sometimes hidden. Her distinctive style exemplifies her carefree attitude and fun-loving nature. As Rosalie puts it, "My paintings are colorful and whimsical -- they are definitely not serious. I view Hawaii through rose colored glasses lit with a smile. I try to have fun with my work and people have often told me they enjoy looking for the mynah bird Ive placed in each piece of artwork." Her work has been exhibited at The Honolulu Academy of Art, Hawaii Artist League, Hawaii Watercolor Society, Honolulu Printmakers and the National League of American Pen Women, with shows in Washington, D.C. and the Copley Gallery in Boston. Rosalie is also the recipient of many awards and she is represented in private collections throughout the entire world.
