Young designer, Jesse Howard, founded Matiko Footwear in 2003 to fill the niche for high-fashion, funky, comfortable women's sandals. His design education began in a little surf shop in Maui where he started working "just to get a deal on surf trunks and boards and have a few extra bucks." As he continued to work his desire and inspirations from the Hawaiian sunsets and beautiful surroundings developed into a love for design and fashion.

Matiko gives classic styles a fresh edge for the trend conscious woman. Matiko's sandals are both edgy and adorable. Each handmade collection is made with imported leathers in bright, rich colors, and eye catching design details to make a comfortable fit.
